Julie Terestman Pottery

Over the years Julie Terestman's work has continued to evolve. Early on it was primarily functional and highly decorative. Each ceramic work has always been unique and one of a kind. Some were theatrical, playing off a range of many different historical references. In 2009, she began developing another distinct body of work. While still using the vessel shape, it is no longer concerned with function. The scale is larger, and the decorative aspect has become minimal, while color and form have taken precedence in the exploration of inner landscapes. This minimal quality has infused the current functional work as well, giving it a peaceful presence.
